We are delighted to invite you to the 69th Panhellenic Conference of the Hellenic Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology to be held in Larissa, Imperial Hotel, 23rd-25th November 2018. As every year, the aim of the conference is to bring together research teams of Greek scientists working in different fi of Life Sciences (both in Greece and abroad), to contribute to their interaction and / or prospects of cooperation, to show off signifi efforts of young Greek researchers and to give a pulse from the recent research work of prominent researchers from Greece and the international community. The Conference will be open to all the topics of Modern Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Among the thematic modules of the Conference are: Cellular Organization and Function, Cellular Communication and Signaling, Functional Genomics-Proteomics, Structure and Function of Macromolecules, Molecular / Genetic Base of Diseases, Development, Differentiation and Aging, Systems Biology – Bioinformatics, Stem Cells and Tissue Regeneration, Regulation of Gene Expression, RNA Biology, Plant Biotechnology and Microorganisms and Chemical Biology.
This year’s Conference will be attended by distinguished scientists from Greece and abroad, such as: Sir Peter Ratcliffe (Oxford University), Anne Osbourn (John Innes Center), David Stuart (Oxford University, Antonis Koromilas (McGill University), Othon Iliopoulos (Harvard Medical School), Nick Kyrpidis (Joint Genome Institute, Berkley), George Spyroulias (University of Patras), Christos Tsatsanis (University of Crete), Christos Zervas (IIBEAA), Katerina Katsani (Democritus University) and Grigoris Amoutzias (University of Thessaly).
The conference will include a special session dedicated to the memory of Professor Fotis Kafatos, where Iain Mattaj (EMBL), Spyros Georgatos (University of Ioannina) and George Christofi (Imperial College, London) will participate as speakers.
At the same time as the 69th Congress, for the 6th year, the very successful institution of the Young Scientists’ Forum, members of HSBMB, which is organized independently, by a committee of young researchers, will continue. The 6th HSBMB Young Scientists’ Forum will also be held at Imperial Hotel on 22nd November 2018.
